7 Sisters Trail Race - Lessons Learned

The 7 Sisters Trail Race was T O U G H .  I was totally surprised by the arse kicking I received in just the first mile alone.  I did learn a few good valuable lessons.

  1. I am not a sure footed billy goat!
  2. My legs run out of mountain running gas after about 7.5 miles
  3. I can still however run the flats well on tired legs
  4. I also successfully avoided getting my face in a picture taken by the official race photographer...that's me in the green shorts on the right.  (note: you can buy pictures from race here!)
  5. It is awesome having friends at a race!!!
At the start of the race there was a sign posted with some simple instructions.  I knew I was in for a hard run when I read the last bullet point.

I had a mix of old and new friends who were also at this race.  And that made the race 10x better.  Great seeing you and great job out there.
Josh - congrats for hitting that 3 hour mark!
New England Spahtens - It was great meeting some of you for the first time!
-Heather (aka www.RunFasterMommy.com) nice seeing you again.  PS - you've got a great blog name too!  Readers - Heather is a MUCH better writer than I am, go check out her recap of the race!
- Tara thanks for the silly pic of me during the race!  ***Note to Self - stop sticking your tongue out anytime someone points a camera at you.
- Jason, Sarah, Geoff & Mark, can't want to race again with you all!

In the end I finished the 12 mountainous miles in 2:32:00.  I had a lot of fun and hung out with some great folks.
I love running in the woods.  Until next time.

I've never been so excited to go to New Jersey!

I just signed up for the Reebok Spartan Race Super in New Jersey.  You should too!

The Super Spartan obstacle race provides an 8+ MILES / 20+ OBSTACLES battlefield of insane mud running with 15 or more obstacles to test your physical strength and mental resolve. This mud fest of a race will have many trials to push you to your limits that any man or woman with resolve can complete! This endurance race conists of mud runs, trails, and both mental and physical obstacles and challenges. The good news is that after you complete your painful journey, there will be live music and a catered meal to soothe your aching joints. Top 3 Males and top 3 Females at each Super Spartan qualify for a free entry into the Spartan Beast.

Everest - Done!

I climbed Mt. Everest today.  It was pretty awesome.  Nice little training day for sure!

Tomorrow I'm swimming around Australia.  I'll post pics, don't worry.
